About the Role

 

Category analyst primary role is to support the Category Development manager throughout the process of category development by providing a proper professional analysis on the performance of the categories in the business through data collections from BI reports, SAP, and other research tools and resources.

Ket Role Specific Accountabilities:

  • Assist & support the category Development Manager in all aspects of category development process and ensure critical path is followed as per categories calendar.
  • Provide assistance to Category Development Manager in developing category management strategies in companywide perspective. Collect data from multiple sources (SAP, POS RPRO, BI Reports, CSI, Global trends, BMI, Euromonitor, etc.) to identify new sales opportunities in volume, share, promotion, price, and shelf space.
  • Analyze category performance reports and identify inefficiencies in the categories and provide recommendations.
  • Assist in compiling research reports on market, consumers, trends & competitors that are related to business in general and to the category under development.
  • Responsible for the management & maintenance of databases and reports and make sure all research reports on market, consumers, trends & competitors are filed and achieved professionally for future use.
  • Assist in identify new business opportunities and new segments of customers that help the business grow the market share.
  • Gathers category, consumer, and shopper data to help identify opportunities at the customer level to improve category sales through optimal assortment and shelving.
  • Assist in sales and profitability of assigned category through analysis of performance data.
  • Analyze business and market trends to recommend new strategies for increased sales.
  • Develop all documentations related to category management and sales activities.
  • Support and assist in business presentations and sales proposals as needed.
  • Working closely with Space and Range Planner on the finalization of space allocated for each category in collaboration with Buyers.
  •  Responsible in maintaining and updating Store Opening Pack Bay wise file.
  • Coordinate with Master Data team for any listing and other related issue.
  • Store Fixture Ordering for all stores as per requirement.
  • Communicate with Logistic and demand planning for stock ordering.
  • Prepare stock analysis and stock cover report to be discuss with Business Development team and suggest action plan wherever applicable.
  • Communicate with Store Managers and discuss exit plans, adhered to timelines.
  • Maintain and update the bay number summary tracker for all opening and existing stores.

 

About You

 

Education: Graduate

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:  Minimum 5 years relevant experience

Job-Specific Skills: Advanced skills in Excel, Word & Powerpoint is a must. SAP experience is a definite advantage.
