Job description

General Description

·        Manage and is accountable for the performance and the daily operations of advanced analytics in the respective section. Develop the analytical competency within the department and the organisation as a whole, while ensuring structured development and deployment of advanced information assets.

Main Duties

Standard duties:

·        Support in development and implementation of department strategy according to the company strategy, responsible in setting the section’s operational goals, initiate measures and has accountability in reaching these goals to improve the overall unit’s performance

·        Support the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against departmental goals

·        Responsible for a result-oriented management and development of people and resources, including provision of a strong day-to-day leadership presence involving resource allocation, monitoring, reporting, and conducting regular staff meetings

·        Manage the section’s expenditure and requirements, keeping in mind its impact and utilisation on the financial budget

·        Foster organisational culture by establishing quality awareness and service orientation and complying and implementing processes such as Project Management and Change Management

·        Develop, implement and ensure adherence of policies and procedures

·        Promote and support the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals to significantly contribute to Daman’s strategic goals

Department Specific:

·        Lead the Intelligence Research and Development (R&D) for the section specific assignments and priorities at discretion of the Manager, which should result in a canonical set of state-of-the-art information assets that will catalyse and facilitate agile and efficient steering of the business from any relevant perspective, e.g. medical, commercial, etc.

·        Ensure the delivery of Intelligence services in conjunction with the other sections, within the Intelligence department, and management of Intelligence

·        Provide approval of any advanced information asset before release, where critical assets are [also] signed by the department head based on the decision tree

·        Collaboratively and continuously triage service requests with the Intelligence Executive team with the aim to optimise distribution of work across the Intelligence units

·        Actively promote and improve corporate competency development and sharing of best practices across Daman, e.g. analytics competency development programme in collaboration with HR Learning and Development

·        Continuously improve technology and methodology knowledge to the latest standards within the section in particular, but also within the Intelligence department

·        Develop, implement and/or support projects within Intelligence, Daman, or at request of the Manager with external parties, such as regulators and/or Munich Health (and its relations)

·        Actively plan and undertake any action that enhances the connection of Intelligence with any of the business units

Work Experience Requirements

·        Minimum 4 years analytics/consulting experience, minimum 2 years of which should be in management (team or project management leading) position

·        General knowledge of Healthcare Insurance processes, data and regulatory environment is a must

Note: Additional 2 years of analytics/ consulting experience and additional 1 year management experience are required if the candidate’s education level is minimum Bachelor degree

Licensure / Certification Requirements

·        None

Education

·        Master degree in either a quantitative field, computer science or comparable

·        PhD or certified actuary is preferred

Note: Bachelor degree can be considered if the work experience in analytics/consulting is at the minimum of 6 years

·        Very good leadership skills including people management, selection and development skills

·        Very good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic language is an added advantage

·        Strong level of customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions

·        Broad knowledge of health insurance concepts

·        Good knowledge of Microsoft applications

·        Experienced in managing a multi-cultural environment and promote teamwork and knowledge sharing in order to achieve goals and deliverables

·        Strong working knowledge of SAS and SQL

·        Excellent systematic approach to effective decision-making based on available information
