Job Purpose: To manage and control processes necessary to manage the Group Services unit within Group Accounts Payable Services, Financial Shared Services. The focus areas of the unit comprise analysing the risks & internal controls as applicable for supplier disbursements, identifying solutions, mitigating risk, complying with Group Policies and Procedures, Service delivery to internal and external customers, managing key processes and improving processes as required to enhance efficiency and drive down unit costs. Job Responsibilities: • Manage a cost effective and efficient processing infrastructure to handle exceptionally large volumes of data/ transactions routed through the specialised Financial Shared Services departments. Processes adopted must meet the requirements of the various business partners. • Identify and analyse areas of risk in the different business areas by a process of discussion as well as supporting the implementation of risk mitigation measures by key stakeholders. • Ensure compliance of Group policies and procedures in each of the Financial Shared Services departments • Analyse and resolve problem areas in respective area of operations that results in seamless support to business partners and thereby managing customer needs • Responsible for identifying areas for automation that enhances efficiency and improves data quality. Work with the IT / project teams to ensure smooth implementation. • Prepare appropriate levels of MIS reports and make presentations for the departments/ business supported to communicate trends on exceptions. • Support the different audit process (Statutory, ICD) by generating the necessary audit schedules and reconciliations as required. Resolve any queries put forth by the auditors to smooth the process. • Lead or contribute to effective team working so that accuracy and productivity is optimised and is within the KPI set for the job holder. • Supervise and motivate the team reporting to the jobholder by ensuring they perform all their functions effectively and work towards achieving the overall objectives of the team. This involves performance management-ensuring interim and annual reviews are conducted on time. Appropriate development plans are put in place and staff are coached on-the-job to ensure consistently high standards of work.
